    1. When will the delivery of the newspaper commence?

      Please allow 7 to 9 working days for the newspaper vendor to commence the delivery of the newspaper to your home upon receipt of your subscription application.

      If you are currently subscribing through the newspaper vendor and have signed up to the print subscription directly with SPH, your direct subscription with SPH will commence on the 1st of the next month upon receipt of your subscription application between 1st and 15th of the current month. Similarly, your direct subscription with SPH will commence on 1st of the month following the next month for subscription applications received between 16th and 31st of the current month.

      (For example, your direct subscription with SPH will start on 1st October 2011 if we receive your subscription form between 1st and 15th September 2011. Similarly, it will commence on 1st November 2011 if we receive your subscription form between 16th and 31st September 2011)

    2. Are your subscription rates better/worse off than the newspaper vendors?

      Our rates and delivery fees are the same as the newspaper vendors.

    3. What time will the newspapers arrive?

      The newspapers will be delivered to you by 7.30am daily unless exceptional circumstances such as press breakdowns or insertion of breaking news occur.

    4. Do I have to pay the delivery fee twice if I subscribe to two newspaper publications?

      No. Delivery fee is charged once for each residential address, regardless of the number of publications you subscribe to.

    5. What will happen if I change my address?

      Please contact the Customer Service Officers at 6388 3838 at least 4 working days in advance. Alternatively, you may email your request to circs@sph.com.sg.

    6. What will happen after the existing subscription contract expires?

      For monthly recurring payment arrangement, the subscription will go on an auto-renewal mode after the 12-month subscription period, subject to the price plan at time of renewal.

    7. Can I subscribe to the school publications – Little Red Dot, ST IN, Thumbs Up, ZB Comma, ZB Popcorn, BH Gen G and i3?

      No, all school publications must be made via schools through the teachers.

    1. What will happen if I need to go overseas for a short period of time, can I suspend my subscription temporary?

      An administrative fee of SGD100 will be imposed should you terminate your subscription contract before the expiry date.

The Straits Times Print

  1. General
    1. When will the delivery of Straits Times newspaper commence?

      The Straits Times All-in-One Package is a subscription package which allows you to enjoy unlimited access to The Straits Times across multiple platforms.

You will receive an email with a link for activation of the login account after you have successfully completed the sign-up process for The Straits Times All-in-One Package.

    9. Can I subscribe to The Straits Times print edition only or ST Online only or iPad edition only or iPhone edition only?

      Yes, you can subscribe to The Straits Times print edition only at a monthly rate of SGD24.65^.

      Yes, you can subscribe to The Straits Times Online only at SGD26.65 per month.

      Yes, you can subscribe to The Straits Times iPad edition only at SGD26.65 per month.

      There is no iPhone only edition but there is a Smartphone Package which includes access to both iPhone and Android smartphones for only SGD26.65 per month.

      The iPad and iPhone apps are two individual apps that can be purchased separately via the Apple App store at USD7.99 per week (approx. SGD10) or USD27.99 per month (approx. SGD35).

      ^ Excludes monthly delivery fee of SGD3 (HDB), SGD4 (Private Apartment), SGD5 (Landed Property). Delivery fee will be added based on property type.

    10. Is the iPhone and iPad a universal app?

      No, the iPhone and iPad are two individual apps on iTunes. You will have to download the two apps separately for the appropriate devices.

    11. Can I subscribe to Android Smartphone edition only?

      No, we do not have an Android Smartphone standalone package at the moment but there is a Smartphone Package which includes access to both iPhone and Android smartphones for only SGD26.65 per month.

    12. How many concurrent accesses can I enjoy?

      You will enjoy up to four concurrent accesses across your Android smartphone and iOS devices. The online edition allows only one access at any point of time.

    13. What will happen after the existing subscription contract expires?

      For monthly recurring payment arrangement, the subscription will go on an auto-renewal mode after the 12-month subscription period, subject to the price plan at time of renewal.

  2. Eligibility
    1. I am currently subscribing to The Straits Times print edition on weekend only. Will I be able to add SGD4 per month for access to The Straits Times All-in-One package?

      No, The Straits Times All-in-One package is only applicable for daily subscription packages.

    2. I am currently working overseas. Can the newspapers be delivered overseas if I were to subscribe to The Straits Times All-in-One Package?

      Yes, we are able to accept overseas print subscription but please note that there will be an additional freight charges (depending on the location) and fuel surcharge (depending on the fuel rate at the time of subscription) for delivery of newspapers to overseas address. Please call our Circulation Customer Service Hotline at 6388 3838 or email circs@sph.com.sg for the rates depending on your location.

    3. I am currently paying the monthly subscription fees to a newspaper vendor. Can I enjoy The Straits Times All-in-One Package?

      To enjoy The Straits Times All-in-One Package, you have to subscribe directly with Singapore Press Holdings.

      You will continue to receive The Straits Times newspaper delivered to your doorstep every morning by the same newspaper vendor.

      To become a direct subscriber of SPH, you can either go to www.sphsubscription.com.sg or call Customer Service Hotline: 6388 3838 or email: circs@sph.com.sg

      Please note that your direct subscription with Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) will commence on the 1st of the next month upon receipt of your subscription application between 1st and 15th of the current month. Similarly, your direct subscription will commence on the 1st of the month following the next month for subscription applications received between 16th and 31st of the current month.

    4. I am already subscribing to The Straits Times print edition directly with SPH. Can I enjoy The Straits Times All-in-One Package?
      1. I have paid the full year subscription fee in advance.

        Yes, you can enjoy The Straits Times All-in-One Package by simply making a top up of SGD4 per month for the remaining balance months of your existing print subscription to start accessing The Straits Times Online, iPad, iPhone and/or Android Smartphone editions. Please call our Customer Service Hotline: 6388 3838 or email: circs@sph.com.sg

      2. I am making monthly payment for my subscription fee.

        Yes, you can enjoy The Straits Times All-in-One Package by adding SGD4 per month. The monthly subscription fee of SGD28.65* will be charged to the credit card that you have authorized SPH to charge to the existing print subscription fee. This charge will supersede your previous payment arrangements.

        If you are currently paying your monthly subscription fee through GIRO, Internet Banking, cheque, etc, you will have to charge the monthly subscription fee of SGD28.65* to a credit card in order to enjoy The Straits Times All-in-One Package and this charge will supersede your previous payment arrangements.

        Please note that the subscription fee for the All-in-One package will be on a prepayment basis, as SPH is in the process of converting all newspaper subscription payments from post- to pre-payment. As such, the first charge for the new All-in-One Package will be reflected along with any unbilled print subscription amount.

        * Excludes monthly delivery fee of SGD3 (HDB), SGD4 (Private Apartment), SGD5 (Landed Property). Delivery fee will be added based on property type.

      3. I am currently subscribing to The Straits Times print and online editions. What will happen to my existing subscription if I were to subscribe to The Straits Times All-in-One Package?
        1. A) I have paid the full year subscription fee in advance.

          Your existing print subscription will continue until it expires.

          The remaining balance amount of your The Straits Times Online subscription can be used to set off the top up amount of SGD4 per month for the remaining number of months of your existing print subscription. You can opt for a refund or for the amount to be credited towards an extension of your print subscription, should there be any excess amount after setting off the top-up amount.         2. I am making monthly payment for my subscription fee.

          We will refund the balance amount of your un-utilised The Straits Times Online subscription via cheque. The cheque with the refund amount will be mailed to you within 15 working days.

      4. I am currently subscribing to The Straits Times online only and have paid the subscription fee in advance. What will happen to my existing subscription if I were to subscribe to The Straits Times All-in-One Package?

The Straits Times Online

  1. Usage of Straits Times Online
    1. 1.1. Why can't I find the Classifieds and Recruit sections online?

      StraitsTimes.com does not carry these two sections. You may wish to visit ST701 for online job and other classifieds.

    2. Do I have to log in to use this site?

      Users are required to log in to participate in story discussions. Registration for this is free. Alternatively, you can log in to Twitter or Facebook to comment on stories. However, to read the full stories on our website, you have to be a subscriber.

    3. How does free registration differ from subscriber access?

      Subscribers get full breaking news stories, print stories, and access to our 7-day archive. Free registration enables users to comment on stories.

    4. What should I do if I forget my password?

      When prompted to log in, click on the "Forgot password" link

    5. How do I print a story?
      1. On the story page, look for a Print icon on the left.
      2. Click on it and it will take you to a print-friendly version.
      3. Click on "Print this" on the top right-hand corner. Alternatively, select "File" on your browser tool bar and click "Print".
    6. Where can I find old Straits Times stories?

      For stories published less than 7 days ago, visit http://www.straitstimes.com and scroll to the bottom. Under ARCHIVE, select which day's news you want to view. If the story you are searching for was published more than 7 days ago, please visit Newslink for assistance.

    7. The font size for story pages is too small. How can I increase it?

      Press Ctrl and + at the same time to increase, or Ctrl and - to reduce.

    8. How do I read the full stories on StraitsTimes.com?

      Some breaking news stories on StraitsTimes.com are truncated. To read the full story, you have to be a subscriber. Subscription gives you access to full stories in print and online, as well as access to our 7-day archive.

    9. How many concurrent accesses can I enjoy?

      The online edition allows only one access at any point of time.
