Subscription Terms and Conditions


STANDARD SUBSCRIPTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

(LAST UPDATED ON 7th FEBRUARY 2017)

  1. These Standard Subscription Terms and Conditions ("Standard Terms") govern your subscription(s) to newspapers published by Singapore Press Holdings Limited ("SPH"), irrespective of the delivery platform or means of access. SPH has the right to amend these Standard Terms from time to time by posting any amendments on its website, and you agree to be bound by these amendments.
  2. All subscription packages and prices reflected on this website are applicable to home subscriptions only.
  3. You must be 18 years old and above to subscribe to our services. If you are below 18 years old, please get your parent or guardian to undertake the subscription.
  4. You also agree to be bound by any specific terms governing payment, subscription fees, minimum subscription periods, entitlements to any gift or premium under any promotion, termination fees and delivery fees which are applicable to your subscription as set out in our application forms for the relevant subscription packages and payment terms you have selected.
  5. SPH has the right to vary subscription fees payable or any other term relating to your subscription from time to time upon giving you at least 14 days' prior notice.
  6. Please take note that if you have opted to take delivery of the print edition of your subscribed newspapers, the applicable Delivery Fee, once charged, is non-refundable. Delivery Fees are charged by residential type, and will be charged by per subscriber account per delivery address.
  7. You should receive a letter acknowledging your subscription within 30 days of confirming your subscription.
  8. All subscription fees are due in advance. Please ensure that payment is made and cleared by your bank before each monthly/annual recurring payment is due. For payments by credit card, your credit card account must be in good standing and remain valid for the monthly/annual charge(s) to be debited successfully. If your credit card has expired, or if you wish to use a different credit card, you must notify us promptly by contacting our Customer Service – Circulation department at least 14 days before your next subscription fee payment is due. If you fail to provide us such notice in a timely manner, you shall be liable for any prevailing administrative, termination or other fees which SPH may impose in accordance with clause 9 below.
  9. Your subscription will continue and be renewed automatically on a monthly basis after the first month/year until you expressly instruct us that you wish to terminate your subscription by providing us with at least 30 days’ prior notice in writing at SPH LIMITED, 82 Genting Lane, Media Centre, Level 2 Circulation Division, Customer Service, Singapore 349567. If the minimum subscription period applicable to your subscription has not yet expired as at the date of such termination, the prevailing administrative, termination or other fees shall also be due and payable by you. Unless otherwise stated by SPH, any renewal of your subscription will be on the then prevailing subscription terms therefor.
  10. If timely payment of your subscription fees or other payments due from you is not made for any reason, or if you breach any other terms and conditions that are applicable to your subscription, SPH may, without prejudice to its rights and remedies at law to recover any sums due from you, suspend or terminate your subscription without further notice or obligation to you and you may be subject to the prevailing administrative, termination or other fees.
  11. If you experience any issues pertaining to delivery of newspapers (including but not limited to non-delivery of print edition of newspapers), please alert us promptly by contacting our Customer Service no later than two (2) days after the date of the newspaper(s) in question.
  12. In the event of any discrepancies or inaccuracies in your invoice/statement/records relating to the payment for your subscription, you must notify us promptly by contacting our Customer Service – Circulation department no later than fourteen (14) days from the date of the invoice/statement/records for us to investigate into the matter, otherwise our records shall be conclusive of the amounts due from you and we will not entertain any disputes in relation to the same.
  13. You confirm that the information provided in your subscription application form is true and correct at the point of application, and undertake to promptly inform SPH if there are any changes to the information provided from time to time.
  14. You agree and consent to SPH and its related corporations (collectively, "SPH Group") collecting, using and disclosing your personal data for the purposes of processing your subscription application and to provide you with the products and services you have requested. These purposes are set out in the SPH Privacy Policy which can be found at http://sph.com.sg/legal/sph_privacy.html and which may be amended from time to time.
  15. You agree to the SPH Member Terms and Conditions which can be found at http://sph.com.sg/legal/member_conditions.html and which may be amended from time to time. You agree that SPH’s decision on all matters or disputes relating to or in connection with your subscription and any matters ancillary thereto (including without limitation payment, delivery, promotions or eligibility requirements) are final and conclusive on you. In the event of conflict between these Standard Terms and the SPH Member Terms and Conditions, these Standard Terms shall prevail.
  16. SPH has the right to vary or amend any terms and conditions which may apply to your subscription upon notice in writing by posting to SPH’s website.

Promotion Terms and Conditions

CONTRACT SUBSCRIPTION PROMOTION – THE STRAITS TIMES ALL-DIGITAL APPLE MUSIC JULY 2017 CAMPAIGN TERMS AND CONDITIONS

(LAST UPDATED ON 23 JUNE 2017)

  1. The terms herein apply in addition to our Standard Terms and Conditions where you are subscribing for a newspaper with a gift or other promotion (“Premium”) subject to a Minimum Subscription Period as hereafter defined.
  2. This promotion is valid from 20 July 2017 till 31 August 2017 (“Promotion Period”) for The Straits Times (ST) All-Digital package for home subscriptions in Singapore only. It is not valid with other promotions and bundle deals.
  3. The promotional price for this subscription package (“Package”)is $0.99 per month for the first three (3) months and $29.90 per month from the fourth (4th) month to the 12th month. Thereafter, the prevailing subscription rate (i.e. $34.90 per month) will be effected from the 13th month onwards. You may take up the Package: (i) on a contract for a Minimum Subscription Period of twelve (12) months and be entitled to the Premium set out in the table below; or (ii) without a contract or any Premium.
  4. A breakdown of the subscription options and corresponding Premium offered under this promotion is set out in the following table:

  6. Your $100 Apple Music credit can only be redeemed and activated on iTunes Singapore store and Apple Music app downloaded from Singapore App Store or Google Play Store.
  7. Sign-up required. Individual membership only. Membership automatically renews after pre-paid period expires.   8. For subscriptions without contract, you may cancel your promotional subscription at any time. If we receive your notification to cancel before the second (2nd) last day of the month, we will stop charging your account for the next month onwards, and your unlimited access to ST All-Digital will continue for the remainder of the month during which you notify us to cancel. However, if we receive your notification to cancel on or after the second (2nd) last day of the month, we will stop charging your account for the following month onwards, and your unlimited access to ST All-Digital will continue for the remainder of the month during which you notify us to cancel through to the end of the next month.
  9. Eligibility:
      9.1. The following groups of subscribers are eligible for this promotion:
        9.1.1. New subscribers: Subscribers who do not have an ST subscription plan with Singapore Press Holdings.

        9.1.2. Vendor subscribers: Existing subscribers who are currently paying their ST subscription fee to a newspaper vendor. Note that upon subscription under this promotion, these subscribers will be converted to direct subscribers.

        9.1.3. Existing ST Print-only / One-Digital / All-in-One (AIO) subscribers without contract who upgrade to ST All-Digital package.

        9.1.4. Existing ST All-Digital subscribers without contract who renew their existing package.
      9.2. The following groups of subscribers are not eligible for this promotion:
        9.2.1. Existing ST subscribers with contract.

        9.2.2. Existing subscribers who subscribe to a bundle package.
  10. (Applicable to Print-Only and AIO home subscriptions in Singapore only) For information on when the subscription and delivery of print newspaper(s) to your delivery address will commence, please refer to the table below:

  11. To qualify for a Premium, you must (a) take up the Package in accordance with point 3 above, and (b) your duly completed subscription application must be received by SPH within the Promotion Period. Requests for extensions of the Promotion Period will not be entertained, and applications for subscriptions received by SPH after the Promotion Period will not qualify. SPH has the right to determine your eligibility for any Premium promotion at its sole and absolute discretion and its decision thereon shall be final and binding.
  12. SPH has the right and discretion to substitute any Premium with any other premium of similar value.
  13. Where a Premium is offered by SPH in connection with your subscription, the following additional terms apply: (a) The Premium is only valid for a 12-month subscription. Strictly no exchange or re-election of any Premium is allowed after the subscription application is submitted to SPH; (b) You agree and acknowledge that no representations or warranties of any kind, implied, express or statutory, including without limitation the warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, title, merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose, are given by SPH in respect of any gift or Premium. SPH will not entertain any requests to issue any refund or grant an exchange in respect of any gift Premium that is found to be faulty or not fit for use; and (c) Premiums must be redeemed by subscribers in accordance with the instructions and terms as stated on the Activation / Redemption Email which you will receive within 4 working days after the commencement of your subscription and activation of your mySPH account. Gifts or Premiums which are not redeemed by you will be forfeited. In such event, for the avoidance of doubt, your obligations under this section (including without limitation to maintain the subscription for the Minimum Subscription Period) will continue to apply in full.
  14. Upon expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period, you agree that your subscription for the same publication will continue in force on the then prevailing terms for such subscriptions until and unless you provide SPH with notice in writing that you wish to terminate in accordance with the said terms.
  15. If you terminate your subscription before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or during the Minimum Subscription Period you fail to pay to SPH any sums as and when due and SPH exercises its rights under the Standard Terms to terminate your subscription, the following fees and charges shall also be due and payable by you to SPH upon notice by SPH:
    1. a. administrative fee of $20; and
    2. b. termination fee of $350.
  16. Unless SPH has stated expressly otherwise, each subscriber may only enjoy one promotional or Premium offer at any time, which may not be applied in conjunction with any other promotions or offers.
  17. You agree and acknowledge that: (i) all matters relating to your redemption and utilization of the Premiums are to be resolved solely between you and the relevant provider of the Premiums; and (ii) SPH shall not be responsible for any discrepancies or charges (if any) in respect of the same, or engage in or entertain any correspondence in respect of any of the foregoing.

  1. 此份标准订阅条款与条件(简称"标准条款")适用于您所订阅的新加坡报业控股(简称"报业控股")报刊,包含所有报刊平台、登录阅读帐号。报业控股有权利在其官方网站随时修改此标准条款,并且您同意接受任何标准条款修改的约束。
  2. 所有订阅配套及价格显示在此网站/表格仅适用于住家订户。
  3. 您必须年满18岁才能订阅报业控股之报刊。如果您未满18岁,请由您的父母或监护人完成/填写此份订阅表格。
  4. 您的订阅在我们的订阅表格中所列出相关的订阅配套及您所选择的付款条件,您也同意并被约束于任何特别条款指定款项、订阅费、最短订阅期、任何订阅优惠活动所获得的赠品、订阅取消费及派送费等。
  5. 报业控股有权利在14天前向您通知任何订阅费的调整或修改关于您订阅报刊的条款与条件。
  6. 如果您一旦确定要派送所订阅的报刊,派送费完成支付后就不得退款。派送费将依据您所居住的住宅类型有所区别,且派送费依据每位订户的帐户及派送地址计算。
  7. 一旦报业控股确认您的订阅后,您会于30天内收到订阅确认函。
  8. 所有订阅费都是以预先支付方式付款。请确保您的银行户口得以支付每月/年的订阅款项。关于信用卡支付,请确保您的信用卡帐户保持良好信用并且能成功支付每月/年的订阅款项。如果您的信用卡已经过期或您希望使用不同的信用卡,请于每月/年款项支付前14天向我们的发行部客服中心联络。如果您未能在款项支付前14天通知我们,您必须承担支付报业控股所要求的相关行政费、订阅取消费或其它费用。
  9. 从您开始订阅报刊第一个月后,您的订阅每月会自动续约直到您向我们通知停止订阅服务。若您要停止订阅,请于30天前以书面通知邮寄到SPH LIMITED, 82 Genting Lane, Media Centre, Level 2 Circulation Division, Customer Service, Singapore 349567。如果您的合约最短订阅期尚未到期,您必须支付行政费、合约取消等其它费用。
  10. 如果您未于缴费期限内支付订阅费及其它因素未能缴清欠款或违反任何条款与条件,报业控股可在不影响其在法律上之权利向您要求支付欠款或者在无任何提前通知下停止您的订阅服务且您必须支付相关行政费或其它订阅取消等费用。
  11. 如果您在订阅过程中,发票、结单或纪录有任何差异或不符合您的订阅款项,您必须在收到发票、结单或纪录14天内向我们的发行部客户服务中心联络以调查问题原因,否则我们的记录则是决定您所最终所需支付的金额,我们不会接受任何的申诉及退款。
  12. 您确认在送出订阅表格时所提供资料是正确的并且保证如果有任何更改都必须向报业控股立刻进行通知。
  13. (仅适用于印刷版及多合一综合配套) 有关您的报刊订阅及印刷版派送时间何时生效,请参考以下表格:

  14. (仅适用于印刷版及多合一综合配套)如果您遇到任何报纸派送问题(包含但不仅限于印刷版报纸未派送问题),请于发生派送问题的2天内向我们的发行部客服中心联络。
  15. (仅适用于印刷版及多合一综合配套)您可通过我们的网站www.sphsubscription.com.sg(点击"My Service"中的"Request for Temporary Stop")进行暂停派送印刷版报纸服务(简称"暂停派报服务")。您同意这项暂停派报服务 (a) 是报业控股提供便利之服务且保有最终决定处理权 (b) 至少需在3个工作天前(不包含星期六、日及公共假期)完成暂停派报之预定 (c)且每次至少暂停3天以上及最多不超过30天。
  16. (仅适用于印刷版及多合一综合配套)如果您是印刷版订户且您所使用的暂停派报服务已被确认,并且每次只少暂停8天以上,每年最多不超过30天,报业控股将根据您的暂停天数退还部份款项、馀额退还或延长您的订阅。多合一综合配套(All-in-One)订户使用暂停派报服务,不得享有任何退款、馀额退还或延长订阅之权利因为订户仍然可继续使用数码平台阅读报刊。
  17. (仅适用于印刷版及多合一综合配套)您同意且确认无论报业控股批准您的暂停派报需求,报业控股并不承担或保证所有暂停派报服务无任何差错。在上述情况下,无论您是否符合标准订阅条款与条件中的第13条,订户仍然需支付在暂停派报期间所有报刊订阅费用,且无论订户是否继续收到报纸或已要求暂停派报服务,报业控股不会承担订户任何损失。
  18. 您同意且准许报业控股及其子公司(统称"报业控股集团")收集、使用、透露您的个人资料作为订阅申请使用及提供您要求的产品及服务。 这些用途详载于新加坡报业控股个人隐私政策http://sph.com.sg/legal/sph_privacy.html且报业控股有权利随时修改。
  19. 您同意新加坡报业会员控股条款与条件列在http://sph.com.sg/legal/member_conditions.html且报业控股可随时修改此条款与条件。您也同意所有报业控股的最终决定若关于到您的订阅或影响其它任何附带纠纷(包含但不仅限于订阅款项、派送、促销活动或其它参加需求)是不可被否决的。
  20. 报业控股有权利在其网站通知且随时修改关于您订阅配套的任何条款与条件。

  1. 本促销活动订阅条款与条件附加于标准订阅条款与条件,适用于促销活动订阅配套有提供任何赠品或其它奖励且包含最短订阅期限。
  2. 此促销活动日期为2017年7月20日至2017年8月31日,不得与其它优惠活动共同使用。仅适用于签订联合早报任一配套24个月或36个月合约并且住家派送地址仅限于新加坡地区。根据所选择的订阅赠品,部份赠品在兑换时需额外支付费用,付款方式以赠品兑换处所提供为准,赠品兑换处有权利拒绝以其它方式付款之订户。

  6. 为了符合赠品获取资格,您必须(a)是早报新订户,(b)在合约期间同意维持您所申请的订阅配套及赠品且在合约期间不得以更改或取消合约,及(c)您必须在2017年7月20日至2017年8月31日活动期间呈交订阅表格或申请配套给报业控股。活动截止日期不得延期且申请日期超过活动期间则不具有活动参与资格。报业控股有最终权利决定您是否具有活动参与资格以获取活动赠品。
  7. "新订户"之定义为同一家庭户口未曾直接向报业控股订阅过联合早报报刊或者在过去90天中未曾订阅或取消联合早报报刊。在此条款与条件中第2点所指出的"家庭户口"是指同一个住宅单位及其家庭成员使用相同的帐单地址或派送地址。每个家庭户口仅限于兑换一份赠品或参与此促销活动。
  8. 报业控股有权利及保留最终处理权以用相同价值的赠品取代任何赠品。
  9. 报业控股所提供的订阅赠品是根据您的订阅配套来决定,并适用于以下额外条款与条件:(a)赠品送完为止。订户呈交表格给报业控股后,不得更换或重新选择赠品。(b) 您了解与同意报业控股所提供之赠品不会给予任何形式、默示、明示或法定的担保或维修服务,包括但不限定保障不侵犯第三方权利、所有权、商业适售性、商品满意度及特定目的的适用性。报业控股不会提供任何毁损赠品之退款或交换服务。(c) 订户完成订阅后您会于6-8周内收到赠品兑换书,您必需按赠品兑换书的指示在指定日期及地点兑换赠品。所有赠品于活动结束后3个月内(或赠品兑换书中指定期限内)未被兑换将被取消。若赠品被取消,您还是毫无疑问的必须继续完成此第2部份之条款与条件所要求的义务(包括但不仅限于维持合约中所指定的最短订阅期)。
  10. 当您的订阅合约到期后,您同意且根据当时的条款与条件继续维持同一份报刊订阅配套(合约订阅配套)直到您以书面通知报业控股终止合约及其条款与条件。
  11. 如果您在合约最短订阅期满前以任何理由终止合约或在合约最短订阅期间内未能支付订阅款项给报业控股,报业控股有权利根据基本条款与条件停止您的订阅且会向您通知收取以下费用:
    1. 行政费 $20;
    2. 合约取消费,若是12个月合约需支付$100、24个月合约需支付$200、36个月合约需支付$500。
  12. 除非报业控股有特别表示,否则每位订户同时只能参与一次促销活动或获得一份赠品,也不可与其它促销优惠活动合併使用。

CONTRACT SUBSCRIPTION PROMOTION – LIANHE ZAOBAO JULY CAMPAIGN TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The terms herein apply in addition to our Standard Terms and Conditions where you are subscribing for a newspaper with a gift or other promotion (“Premium”) subject to a Minimum Subscription Period as hereafter defined.
  2. This promotion is valid during the period from 20 July 2017 till 31 August 2017 for any Lianhe Zaobao (ZB) subscription package in Singapore only and comes with a Minimum Subscription Period of twenty-four (24) or thirty-six (36) months, depending on the Premium chosen. This promotion is not valid with other promotions and bundle deals. Depending on the Premium chosen, a top-up fee may be required upon redemption, payable strictly by the payment methods specified by the respective redemption centre.

  4. Eligibility
      4.1. The following groups of subscribers are eligible for this promotion:
        4.1.1. New subscribers: Subscribers who do not have an ZB subscription plan with SPH (For avoidance of doubt, subscribers who have subscribed to ZB in the 90 days prior to subscribing are not eligible).

If you terminate your Contract Subscription before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or during the Minimum Subscription Period you fail to pay to SPH any sums as and when due and SPH exercises its rights under the Standard Terms to terminate your subscription, the following fees and charges shall also be due and payable by you to SPH upon notice by SPH:
    1. a. administrative fees of $20 ;
    2. b. termination fees of $100 if the Minimum Subscription Period is twelve (12) months, $200 if the Minimum Subscription Period is twenty-four (24) months, or $500 if the Minimum Subscription is thirty-six (36) months.

If you terminate your subscription before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or during the Minimum Subscription Period you fail to pay to SPH any sums as and when due and SPH exercises its rights under the Standard Terms to terminate your subscription, the following fees and charges shall also be due and payable by you to SPH upon notice by SPH:
    • a. administrative fee of $20; and
    • b. termination fee of $100.
  12. Unless SPH has stated expressly otherwise, each subscriber may only enjoy one promotional or Premium offer at any time, which may not be applied in conjunction with any other promotions or offers.

  3. The promotional price for this subscription is $0.99 per month for the first three (3) months, and thereafter, the prevailing subscription price of $19.90 per month will apply.
  4. You may cancel your subscription to the Package at any time. If we receive your notification to cancel before the second last day of the month, we will stop charging your account for the next month onwards, and your access to content under the Package will continue for the remainder of the month during which you notify us to cancel. However, if we receive your notification to cancel on or after the second last day of the month, we will stop charging your account for the following month onwards, and your access to content under the Package will continue for the remainder of the month during which you notify us to cancel through to the end of the next month.

  2. This promotion is valid from 6 April 2017 till 6 July 2017 (“Promotion Period”) for The Straits Times (ST) All-Digital subscription package for home subscriptions in Singapore only and is not valid with other promotions and bundle deals.
  3. This promotion is for our ST All-Digital subscription package (“Package”), at a promotional price of $0.99 per month for the first three (3) months. From the fourth (4th) month onwards, the prevailing subscription rate (currently $34.90 and subject to change) will apply. You may take up the Package: (i) on a contract for a Minimum Subscription Period of twelve (12) months and be entitled to the Premiums set out in the table below; or (ii) without a contract or any Premium.
  4. For the optional Premium that comes with a 12-month contract, no mobile contract is required to redeem the Premium, and the price is inclusive of GST. Subscribers may redeem the optional Premium at appointed Samsung retail stores. SPH reserves the right and discretion to change the model and pricing of the optional Premium without any prior notice.

Strictly no exchange or re-election of any Premium is allowed after the subscription application is submitted to SPH; (b) You agree and acknowledge that no representations or warranties of any kind, implied, express or statutory, including without limitation the warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, title, merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose, are given by SPH in respect of any gift or Premium. SPH will not entertain any requests to issue any refund or grant an exchange in respect of any gift Premium that is found to be faulty or not fit for use; and (c) Premiums must be redeemed by subscribers in accordance with the instructions and terms as stated on the Activation / Redemption Email. For existing mySPH account holders, you will receive the Activation Email within 4 working days after the commencement of your subscription. For new mySPH account holders, you will receive the Activation Email within 14 working days after the commencement of your subscription.   12. Upon expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period, you agree that your subscription for the same publication will continue in force on the then prevailing terms for such subscriptions until and unless you provide SPH with notice in writing that you wish to terminate in accordance with the said terms.
  13. If you terminate your subscription before the expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period for any reason whatsoever, or during the Minimum Subscription Period you fail to pay to SPH any sums as and when due and SPH exercises its rights under the Standard Terms to terminate your subscription, the following fees and charges shall also be due and payable by you to SPH upon notice by SPH:

You agree and acknowledge that: (i) all matters relating to your redemption and utilization of the Premiums are to be resolved solely between you and the relevant provider of the Premiums; and (ii) SPH shall not be responsible for any discrepancies or charges (if any) in respect of the same, or engage in or entertain any correspondence in respect of any of the foregoing.
